Penhold offers Pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 in three schools which fall under the Chinook’s Edge School Division. Chinook’s Edge is one of the largest school divisions in the province, serving over 11,000 students in 43 Central Alberta schools between Calgary and Red Deer.

Built in 1984 and named after the first teacher at Penhold School, Jessie Duncan Elementary School is learning community serving approximately 300 students from Pre-Kindergarten through grade 3.

Penhold Elementary School is a grade 4-6 school with a student population of approximately 230 students. They pride themselves on having strong communication between families and communities to benefit the development of each student academically, socially, emotionally and physically.

Penhold Crossing Secondary School is a unique ‘P3’ partnership with the Province of Alberta, the Town of Penhold, and Chinook’s Edge. It is adjacent to the Penhold Multiplex, which provides the school community with access to the newly constructed arena, gym and community library. It is a grade 7 - 12 school with a student population of approximately 350 students.

Penhold Waskasoo Middle School is now under construction on Waskasoo Avenue with a planed opening of Sept. 2025
