The municipal election is October 18, 2021

The Nomination Deadline for the 2021 Municipal Election has now passed. 

Mike Yargeau is acclaimed as Mayor.

The following candidates are running for the six (6) available councillor spots:

(I) Incumbent: currently on Town Council

Election signage will not be permitted before Sept. 20th, Nomination Day, and must be removed within 48 hrs after the election. Signage cannot be placed on Town parcels which includes municipal buildings, parks and on school property. 

Election Day is Monday, October 18, 2021

On Monday, October 18, 2021, come out and VOTE to let your voice be heard.
Voting stations are open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penhold Regional Multiplex.

Voters that live in the town of Penhold will vote for Mayor, Councillors, and their School Board Trustees. Residents can cast votes for:

* 1 Mayor for The Town of Penhold - Mike Yargeau is acclaimed.
* 6 Councillors for The Town of Penhold
* 1 Trustee for Chinook's Edge School Division - Sherry Cooper is acclaimed.

If you are eligible to vote for Trustee(s) in the Red Deer Catholic Separate School Division, you will vote in the Red Deer Area Ward at the Penhold Regional Multiplex for:

* 5 Trustees

Advance Voting will occur at the Penhold Regional Library on Saturday, Oct. 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ELECTIONS ALBERTA - Senate Election and Referendum Questions

On January 25, 2020 Council gave approval for Administration to proceed with the Electronic Voting System which will see voters using electronic devices as in past years. This ensures a fluid, accurate and efficient process.  Bylaw 795/2021 Council Procedural Bylaw has been updated to reflect minor legislative changes. 

Additionally, The Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA) has made important changes since the 2017 election, including, Part 5.1 Election Finances and Contributions Disclosure.
