NOTES FROM THE REC ROOM - MARCH Winterfest was fantastic! For the 8th year in a row Nancy, Dave, and Johnny took the gold in the toboggan pull, we saw new winners crowned in the Smoosh race, seeing Nancy McAteer, John Deleval, and Brianne Lattery crowned with the gold!!Spectators enjoyed a great 3 team hockey tournament! Penhold Bandits defended their title like the stars they are with a 8-5 victory over a very young Penhold Blades team. A fantastic effort by all teams in the competition!
Families enjoyed free x country skiing and snowshoeing (special thanks to Penhold School), and a family skate. The biggest firework show in 4 years, and lots of winners of event prizes, and our Special Olympic merchandise -- to honor our current participation in Vancouver 2010! Thanks to all my volunteers, and fellow Town staff for their tireless efforts to put this event on! Thanks to the Penhold Fire Department and their families, for their attendance as well! Thanks to all families who rang in Family Day weekend with the Town of Penhold!!
