NOTES FROM THE REC ROOM - September
Welcome back to all students and faculty of both Penhold and Jessie Duncan Schools! It is hard to believe that summer is over and we are approaching Fall already. The Recreation and Events Department had a wonderful, and event- filled summer (as always), with our summer sports and summer camps running through the July and August months. For the 2010 season, we had 64 registered kids playing sports right here in Penhold, and what a great summer we had! Special thanks to Melissa, Randy, Marci, and Beth for all your help coaching this season, we could not have done it without you!! It was a great year for our summer fun program as well, with the beautiful new library as home base, we set record numbers for attendance - with 87 different kids accessing the Summer Fun program throughout the 8 weeks it was offered! I had a very relaxing 2 week vacation back in Nova Scotia visiting my family and friends. Thanks to Town of Penhold staff who stepped up to cover my responsibilities, to make my East Coast vacation possible. It was a needed trip -and I am very thankful to have been able to go home during these busy summer months to visit my family. Don't forget to check out the annual "Community Information Fair" this year held at the Multiplex! See this edition for more information. Hope to see you all there!
