Parkland Community Planning Services (PCPS)

PCPS is an inter-municipal planning service agency that provides a broad range of services to urban and rural municipalities.  PCPS provides the Town of Penhold with expertise in municipal development plans, area structure plans, re-development plans, site outline and concept plans, Land Use Bylaws, and special studies. As our community grows we look forward to a continued relationship with Parkland Community Planning Services.

Land Use Bylaw

Land Use Bylaw 661/11 was recently adopted by the Town of Penhold Council. The Land Use Bylaw identifies the types of developments that are permitted in the Town and those that are discretionary. It will identify when you need a development permit and those projects that are exempt. It will also help identify the rules that need to be followed to do such things as build a house, start a home-based business, apply for a sign permit and even parking recreation vehicles in your yard. Outline Plans

Outline Plans are non-statutory documents that identify the type of development that will occur on a parcel of land. Outline Plans tell you where the roads are supposed to go, the type of housing that is planned and the location of any park spaces and storm ponds that have been identified.

Council approved a revised Outline Plan for the remaining land in Hawkridge Estates Developments. This plan pays particular attention to the land along both sides of Hawkridge Boulevard north to Highway 42. Streetscape Design Guidelines

The design of streets directly affects the quality of life in a community.  The purpose of this document is to provide the Town of Penhold with a set of design guidelines that focus on community liveability by providing safe travel options, considering the traffic function of the street in conjunction with other modes of travel, and the character and context of the community.
