Penhold is a vibrant, thriving, welcoming community working together, supporting positive growth in creating a safe and healthy environment
A Vision is a description of the desired future for the Town. The participants reaffirmed this Town of Penhold Vision for 2011-2013.
Community Vision Values
S.H.A.R.E.S. – (supportive, healthy, accepting, responsible, ever-active, safe)
It was agreed that the SHARES community vision values were created together with the community, and continue to express the ideals and underpin plans for services to residents.

Engaging residents, business, partners and government in fulfilling the Vision, and encouraging supportive partnerships through teamwork.

Responsible use and conservation of resources in a way that takes full and balanced account of the interests of current and future generations and accepts answerability.

Sustainability for the community is providing focused growth, development, and financial accountability.
Retreat participants demonstrated their stated priorities and focus on the future, sustainable and responsible stewardship and economic development by expressing foundational values and principles that will support the decision making processes and operational focus required to accomplish the Vision and Mission.
Proposed Mission Statement for the Town of Penhold
Develop and enhance sustainable community by and through:
- Visionary innovation, flexibility and adaptation
- Proactive and responsible leadership/stewardship
- Provision of services, infrastructure and programs
- Engaging citizens and supporting community involvement
- Advocating to and participating with other organizations and all levels of government
The Town Mission describes the purpose, unique overarching goals and direction for the Town of Penhold for 2011-2013.
Key Strategic Goals for the Town of Penhold for 2011 - 2013
Participants reviewed and edited the nine key strategic goal headings, under which the participant’s 2011-2013 priorities had been placed. Relevant strategies and actions were confirmed and completed or outmoded ones were removed from the prior strategic plan items. All participants chose ten priorities from the edited table with colour coded dots. This nonverbal prioritization assured equal input from all.
